Any service provider providing services like tele-banking, tele-medicine, tele-education, tele-trading, e-commerce, call centre, network operation centre and other IT Enabled Services in India has to get DOT OSP License from the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India.

In this article, we will know about how to take DOT OSP License in India and matters connected thereto.
As per the Terms and Conditions proposed by the Telecom Commission in February, 2000, Other Service providers can take telecom resources from authorised telecom service provider only and should not provide switched telephony services. Telecom Resources are telecom facilities used by an Other Service Providers including but not limited to Public Switched Telecom Network, Public Land Mobile Network, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and (or) the telecom bandwidth provided by authorised telecom service provider. Department of Telecommunication is nodal department which registers Other Service Providers in India.
OSP Registration Requirement Details:

List of Documents and Information required for Taking DOT OSP License:
- Certificate of Incorporation of Private Limited Company
- Memorandum of Association(MOA) and Article of Association (AOA)
- Board of Resolution or Power of Attorney authorizing the authorised signatory
- Name of Business and Activites Proposed
- List of Documents
- List of present shareholders
The above mentioned documents must be certified with seal by a company secretary or director of the company or statutory auditor or public notary.
DOT OSP License Compliance
Once a OSP registration is given, it is valid for 20 years unless otherwise expressly mentioned. As compliance, DOT OSP License holder has to submit “Annual Return” to the Department of Telecommunications” mentioning the activities undertaken and the present status of the OSP within 6 months of completion of the financial year. And has to comply with the terms and conditions prescribed by the Department of Telecommunications for OSPs from time to time.
